Arthur J. Southard Named 2018 Volunteer Lawyer of the Year

The Volunteer Lawyers for the Poor Foundation is pleased to announce Arthur J. Southard as the 2018 Volunteer Lawyer of the Year.
Mr. Southard is also a practitioner who specializes in the areas of bankruptcy, criminal defense, domestic relations, and personal injury. Since accepting his first VLP referral five years ago, Arthur’s commitment to pro bono representation has remained steadfast. He has accepted 16 case referrals to assist clients in Hamilton and Butler Counties. In addition, he conducted five uncontested divorce clinics, helping more than 50 low-income individuals obtain a divorce.
Arthur’s pro bono philosophy is simply stated: “To me, it is just part of being a lawyer to help people”.
